About my Practice
Our Challenging Work Environments
During the last 25 years of my career as an anesthesiologist I have worked in a multitude of environments including two long term full time positions, and a variety of locums jobs. In my varied experiences I have learned a lot about expectations at different sites, what aligns with my values, how to remain true to this core, and how to navigate difficult professional relationships. I continue to work as an anesthesiologist while also running a psychotherapy and coaching practice.
It isn't easy today. While there are tremendous differences in the operating room, inpatient hospital, and the outpatient practice environments there are convergences in the pressures and daily ethical choices we all face.

Physician Coach
Long before the pandemic rocked our clinical world and public perception about medicine and doctors, it was clear to me that our work environments were increasingly focused away from patient safety and nurturing the patient physician relationship. Because these are essential features of physician values and drivers of our work ethic, something had to change. Please find me for more information about navigating our contemporary practice environments, explore your why and how to make this happen.
